2006 Pabst Blue Ribbon Keystone State Rock Paper Scissors
Championship to be held on October 14th in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, October 2, 2006 ?The Keystone Classic Planning Committee is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Pabst Blue Ribbon Rock Paper Scissors (RPS) Keystone Classic. The Classic will bring the region?s premier RPS players, together with unranked amateurs, to Philadelphia to compete for the trophy, $1,200 purse, and championship title. The Keystone Classic Planning Committee is pleased to welcome back Pabst Blue Ribbon as the returning title sponsor of the event and also welcome aboard the Philadelphia Rock Paper Scissors City League as a presenting partner.

The World RPS Society (http://www.worldrps.com/), the international governing body of competitive Rock Paper Scissors, has officially endorsed this event. This makes it one of only a handful of endorsed RPS events across the globe. The Pabst Blue Ribbon Keystone Classic will be the last major U.S. Tournament this year leading up to the International World Championships in Toronto on November 11th.

"Since the 1st Annual Keystone Classic this city has been seriously obsessed with one thing and one thing only: Rock Paper Scissors." said Shawn Ring, Tournament Coordinator. "Between The Keystone Classic, the RPS City League and the fact that a Philadelphia resident won the SW Pro-Ams at Roshambo Winery, Philadelphia has no doubt overtaken Washington DC as the premier RPS training ground in the country, if not the world. I know that it pains most of the local players to think that a DC-area player took home the trophy last year. They are more determined than ever to keep the trophy in the state where it belongs."

The 2006 Pabst Blue Ribbon RPS Keystone Classic will take place at Whiskey Dix Saloon, 421 North 7th Street, Philadelphia on October 14th, 2006. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m., with qualifying rounds beginning at 8:00 p.m. Competitors can purchase tickets in advance at www.northeastrpschamps.com or at the door for $10.00. The number of competitors is locked at 128 with competition spots granted on a first come, first served basis.
